How many AIT hours are required in Oregon?

Source summary · Checked 2026-09-17

Oregon requires 960 hours of supervised AIT training, completed in at least six months and no more than two years, unless an approved waiver reduces the hours.

Eligibility, timing and approval

Apply for and receive AIT registration before beginning training. Training must be supervised by a preceptor.

The published standard is 960 hours over six to 24 months. Completing the hours faster does not remove the six-month minimum.

Current CNAs, RNs, LPNs and acting administrators of a residential care facility may qualify for a partial waiver. Submit the waiver form and supporting documents to the Health Licensing Office; only one waiver category may be requested.

Confirm your registration, any approved waiver and the current application requirements directly with the Health Licensing Office. A calculator estimate is not approval to begin or complete a program.
